I like the extra care taken to prevent drying of the product 🙂 THE PRODUCT Now onto the actual BB cushion product. I’ll let the brochure do some talking first. Can you count 800,000 pores…? I don’t know how they came to that number, but one thing for sure is yes, they are very very fine pores on the BB cushion mesh’ mechanism which lets the product seep through when you press that puff into it. Like this, tada! Savour this moment when it looks the prettiest and clearest in its brand-new state! THE AIR CUSHION PUFF In my opinion, the Air Cushion Puff is the key revolution in this product. It is the most amazing application tool for a foundation/BB cream/the like. “The Air-cell dual texture is processed with a special technology that holds nine times more moisture than its weight for supple and glossy skin. It is slightly thinner than synthetic rubber puff, and has a soft centre that effectively absorbs BB and spreads it evenly on the skin. Firm yet supple in texture, it conceals pores perfectly and gives the face a radiant and natural finish.” I truly agree with every word above having used it for a year or so now! I have tried other BB cushions and the Laneige air cushion has the best balance of firmness to sufficiently capture the product, and softness to apply on your skin flawlessly. THE SHADES These are the shades offered in Singapore – I hear it may differ by country but 21 Natural Beige is their global bestseller and most commonly used for Asian skin. See, the coverage is quite awesome too! Definitely helps in attaining an even skin tone. Now on the face. Left side very obviously is my bare face revealing all the redness, acne and a thousand other sad problems….. and Right side is with Laneige BB cushion only, no concealer or other makeup base. I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! The coverage is AWESOME, right??? Redness almost completely covered. Also, it may be hard to see on pic but the finish is another mind-blower. It’s the best balance of matte and glowy one can get. I personally prefer matte finish but sometimes that can accentuate dryness, especially with combination skin where there are patches of dry parts among the oily T-zone. MY VERDICT Pros Semi-matte finish with light glow just like flawless skin! High coverage, no need concealer unless very red Lightweight texture makes it hard to get cakey. One layer is sufficient to achieve dream skin, or maybe two at most. LONG staying power >7 hours for me. I pat with dry tissue at times when my face becomes an oil tank. Oxidation problems not particularly noticeable. Very easy application using air cushion puff. Use light hand for that dreamy flawless skin you see on magazines. Shade 21 is flattering for most Asian skintones, and I am lucky that it matches mine very well 🙂 SPF 50+ PA+++ what not to like about this Cooling effect upon application a plus during hot weather times Lovely flowery scent the best among all the cushions I have tried Value for money as 2 refills can last a good 6 months or more Cons Not many shades available. I wash it at least once a week but rubbing gently onto a mild soap and all the gunk gets washed out pretty easily. For very dry skin, the Whitening version might work better for a more moisturized’ effect. Overall If you have not tried this product yet, you gotta put down everything and just buy one to try NOW… that’s how confident I am that you’ll like the result. You can choose either the Pore Control like me if you have oilier skin, or the Whitening one if you have dry skin, or the Anti-Aging one which I am very keen to try next. Shade 14 is only available in Korea In shade 21 The coverage is pretty good – in this photo, I only had to apply one layer 😀 Comparing the matte finishes Innisfree Long Wear cushion vs Laneige BB cushion Pore Control I say… First and foremost – the Laneige BB cushion is more for whitening and brightening, whilst this one although it does brighten is catered more for the following Purify the pores and enhance skin’s capability to prevent further pore troubles Cover up pores with tight elastometer and soft focus powder Offers a fresh and semi-matte finish without greasiness with its powerful dual powder formula. Cools down the skin temperature by three degrees, anti-darkening and long-lasting shine-free effect although these last two are similar qualities offered by the Laneige BB cushion. Righty then, let’s get down to reviewing the product 😀 It comes in the usual casing as with more BB cushions, only this one comes with a blue top. And yes, the refill is compatible with Hera, AmorePacific, IOPE, Laneige and Etude House. The coverage is really goooood. It’s great for times when you’re in a rush and don’t have time to pat on multiple layers – this covers almost all my blemishes except for the dark eye circles which I’ve come to accept as part of my genetic heirloom from my long-lost great-grandpanda. I’m proud to announce that a lot of my pores were covered up really nicely, with just one layer. It’s buildable and won’t cake yippee!, but one layer will suffice. Despite using shade 21, I didn’t have that yellowish tinge to my skintone. It also covered up the redness in my skin. There’s a cooling sensation upon fresh application, but it doesn’t stay long. I’m not fussed about this – The wear time is loooong too. I only needed to touch up after 7 hours and this includes some morning sinus sneezing and blowing of the nose. The finish is matte with a slight touch of dewiness. This is great cos once my sebum glands start production, I won’t need that extra shine to my face. Now comes the most important part – remember I said in my review for the Laneige BB Cushion that oxidisation was a major issue? Praise the AmorePacific Beauty gods – this has finally been resolved! Even after 7 hours, I didn’t see the spotty oxidised clumps of goo on my face. YAYYYY. And this was tested out in my crazy summer monster of a country Singapore, where temperatures average 32-35 degrees celsius with a 80% humidity. Ok, very very excited now – this has become one of my favourite BB cushions! Go get yours nao!
